(Green Bay, WI) - The Greater Green Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) announced today that it has been awarded re-accreditation from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP), making it one of only 101 CVBs accredited in the world.
DMAP is an international accreditation program developed by the Washington, DC based Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI). In earning the accreditation, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) communicate to their community, buyers and potential visitors that they have attained a significant measure of excellence.
“The Greater Green Bay CVB is honored to receive the Destination Marketing Accreditation from DMAP,” said Brad Toll, president of the CVB. “With over 120 years travel industry experience, our staff has earned deserved recognition. Families, convention-goers and sports events that come to town are provided outstanding service…that’s a big part of why visitors make return trips to Greater Green Bay.”
“By applying for and receiving accreditation, the Greater Green Bay CVB has demonstrated a commitment to quality programs and services,” said Diana Lawson, FCDME, DMAP Board Chair. “We are proud to recognize the Greater Green Bay CVB for its achievement. Your local CVB has proven excellence in operations and business practices in 16 categories, ranging from governance to sales to innovation. This accreditation underscores their dedication to providing exceptional leadership and commitment to the professionalism of CVBs across the globe.”
The Greater Green Bay CVB works to promote businesses in and around Brown County that welcome out-of-town visitors. The monies spent in local restaurants, hotels, attractions and retail stores, generate an annual economic impact of $557.7 million (2008) and support nearly 9,000 jobs. The CVB works to bring in large events and conventions of all sizes. In 2010, the CVB will assist planners of LZ Lambeau and Baylake Bank Tall Ship Festival, with both events expected to have over 70,000 people in attendance. In addition to these events, the CVB will work with over 600 other convention and sporting groups to provide services and assist attendees.
DMAP is an independent international accreditation body and a leader in defining quality and performance issues in destination marketing. Accreditation standards cover governance, finance, management, human resources, technology, visitor services, group services, sales, communications, membership, brand management, destination development, research/market intelligence, innovation and stakeholder relationships.
