The holidays are almost here and Green Bay is about to add a little extra sparkle to your season with this year’s Christkindlmarket! On Fridays and Saturdays from November 15 through December 21,  Green Bay's Broadway District will transform into a cozy German-inspired holiday wonderland. Get in the spirit of the season with German cuisine, warm cups of glühwein, local gifts, igloo rentals, holiday art workshops, and more. Let’s dive into this year’s Christkindlmarket!

When & Where

Things kick off Friday, November 15th, when the market will officially open with the annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony. Festivities include s’mores making, cookie decorating, horse-drawn carriage rides, and even a visit from Santa’s reindeer.

The market will run for six weeks in Red Sculpture Park in Green Bay’s Broadway District. Fridays, the event runs from 4:00pm - 9:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am - 3:00pm until December 21st

Food & Drinks

Come hungry! Local food vendors will be serving up delicious holiday dishes. Minzo’s Kitchen will have a selection of delectable German classics like bratwurst, spaetzle, and German potato salad, and Mila Vanilla Crepes will be giving their classic crepes the German holiday treatment with their Apfelkuchen crepe and a deep-fried bratwurst crepe complete with German mustard and sauerkraut.

Pair these with a warm drink from the beverage tent, including special holiday beers like Hacker-Pschorr Weiss and warm, spiced Glühwein. On Saturdays, early visitors can grab a morning pick-me-up from Heritage Coffee.

Cozy Igloos

One of the major highlights of the market this year is igloo rentals! Enjoy a rooftop view of the Broadway District from the top of the Hurckman Mechanical building—a perfect way to spend a cozy outing with family, a festive date night, or a holiday hangout with friends.

The setup includes comfy furniture, a small heater, and even a mini Bluetooth speaker so you can listen to “All I Want For Christmas Is You (Make My Wish Come True Edition)” on repeat (we won’t tell). Add to the cozy vibes with a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board or a German platter to enjoy in your winter wonderland bubble. Reserve your igloo here.

Shopping, Workshops, and Special Programming

Keep it local this year, and pick up some presents at the market! With 22 rotating vendors each weekend and some mainstays—including East Twin Arts, Door County Wildflower Candles, and Stella Blu Bohemian Boutique—you’re sure to find lots of unique gifts for everyone on your list.

If you’re feeling like going homemade for your gifts, check out one of the many workshops offered on Saturdays. Try wreath-making with Petal Pusher, holiday crafts with Board & Brush, and gingerbread house decorating with Monzu Bakery! Check out a full list of workshops here.

And if you need yet another reason to visit, Christkindlmarket will have special programming and events each weekend. Live music, dog sled demos, pet photos with Santa, and more await you! Check out the full programming schedule here.

Lastly, stay on the lookout for polar bears! Visitors can find nine polar bears loose in the Broadway District in the window displays of local businesses. Find all nine and win a prize, plus be entered into a drawing to win one of the polar bears at the end of the Christkindlmarket season! Learn more here.

The Giving Tree

Help spread holiday cheer by choosing an ornament from the Christkindlmarket Giving Tree and shopping for a Green Bay area nonprofit. Each ornament highlights the items needed by five local organizations. Your donation makes a difference, and you can drop off your gifts every Friday and Saturday at the market. Learn more about the Giving Tree here.

Volunteer to Spread the Cheer

Christkindlmarket wouldn’t be possible without support from the amazing community! Volunteers are needed to help serve beverages in the warming tent, assist with igloo rentals, and more. It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit and share in the joy of the season with others in the community. You can sign up to volunteer here.
